Pauline Quinonero is a French director, producer and editor born in 1993 in Montpellier. While studying film at Montpellier III University, she made her first short film, Dancing Stars, before specializing in production. In 2018, after completing her studies, she joined the production company Too Many Cowboys. At Too Many Cowboys, she has produced around fifteen short films by various directors.
In 2020, Pauline continued her work as a director. After making a short film from archival footage, Florence, she directed St. Jude (Winterthur International Film Festival, Sicilia Queer International Filmfest, Chéries Chéris, Les Filministes), her third short film, supported by the Brittany Region, La Procirep, and Angoa.
She is also part of the fourth cohort of the Montpellier Game Lab, working on the video game project “Intervalles” with the studio Too Many Cowboys. She has always been passionate about video games and game development.
Alongside these projects, Pauline wrote and directed her fourth short film, Au milieu de nulle part (In the Middle of Nowhere), in 2025 with the support of the Lesbian and Feminist Fund (LIG). She is currently working on a new short film, Je te rends ton amour (I Give You Back Your Love), which addresses the themes of grief and violence.
Pauline is currently developing her first feature film project, Que le diable m'emporte (May the Devil Take Me), which received support for its mid-length version from the Montpellier Metropolitan Area and was selected for the Pitch Workshop at the Brive Film Festival in 2024.
Pauline Quinonero est une réalisatrice, productrice et monteuse française née en 1993 à Montpellier. Pendant ses études de cinéma à l'Université Montpellier III, elle réalise son premier court métrage, Dancing Stars, avant de se spécialiser dans la production. En 2018, à la fin de ses études, elle rejoint la société de production Too Many Cowboys. Au sein de Too Many Cowboys, elle a produit une quinzaine de courts métrages de différents réalisateurs et réalisatrices
En 2020, Pauline poursuit son travail de réalisatrice. Après avoir fabriqué un court métrage d'archives, Florence, elle réalise St. Jude (Festival international du film de Winterthur, Sicilia Queer International Filmfest, Chéries Chéris, Les Filministes), son troisième court métrage, soutenu par la Région Bretagne, La Procirep et l’Angoa.
Parallèlement, elle s’engage dans le Collectif MartinE et lance le « Queer Cinema Club », un cycle de programmation qui diffuse des films issus de la culture queer et milite pour la représentation des personnes LGBTQIA+. Elle est également membre du comité de programmation du Rainbow Screen Festival à Montpellier.
En 2024, Pauline suit une formation à la Cité européenne des Scénaristes. Elle est également consultante en scénarios pour des courts métrages et intervenante sur la production, l'écriture de scénarios et la réalisation dans divers organismes de formation et résidences.
Elle participe également à la quatrième promotion du Montpellier Game Lab avec le projet de jeu-vidéo “Intervalles” et le studio Too Many Cowboys. Le domaine du jeu-vidéo la passionne depuis toujours.
Parallèlement à ces projets, Pauline a écrit et réalisé son quatrième court-métrage Au milieu de nulle part en 2025 avec le soutien du Fonds lesbien et féministe (LIG). Elle travaille sur un nouveau court-métrage, Je te rends ton amour qui aborde le thème du deuil et de la violence.
Pauline développe actuellement son premier projet de long-métrage, Que le diable m'emporte, soutenu dans sa forme moyen-métrage au développement par la Métropole de Montpellier et sélectionné pour l'Atelier Pitch du Festival du film de Brive en 2024.

“My approach to cinema has always been, in a way, a ruse to refuse the compromises of life. I visualize films as utopian lands where everything, absolutely everything, is possible and, above all, the expression of the most intense and inexplicable emotions. In stories, editing, lighting, sets, music, filmed bodies, movements, and optics, I have found an overflowing expression of what constantly rubs up against external constraints within me. More and more, my work consists of exploring this world of energies, occult and mysterious forces, and inner pulsations that, together with our daily lives, form the dimension of invisible things.
And invisible people too, because I always tend to represent those who are not lucky enough to be seen. My queer community, but also other minorities, and all the stories that, between the lines of the norm, can take us out of the usual narrative patterns and transport us elsewhere, into a reality parallel to our own that appeals to me much more.“
